The economy is in a large slump. It's not quite as bad as it was during the great depression but it's darn close. Even the most competent employees are losing their jobs. Older folk are being forced into retirement before they want to. Those that are lucky enough to still have their jobs find that they're making less money then they did in previous years. Life is also getting more expensive. Gas prices are skyrocketing. Milk has also gotten more expensive. Anything having to do with corn is also getting more expensive. All in all it's not a good financial time to live in.
Keeping track of your expenses is important on any given day. Given the state of the economy it has become even more important. There are a few tips and tricks to keeping track of your expenses.
When it comes down to it, however, keeping track of your expenses is up to you. Even if you read up on how to keep track of your expenses for weeks you still have to make the effort.
Most of these tips and tricks have nothing to do with expenses themselves. Rather they are a state of mind that you need to find yourself in and what you should be thinking about.
Fiscal security is something that everyone wants to have. Not knowing how you're going to afford your next meal is a horrible feeling that no-one should have to go through. Getting your car repossessed or your house foreclosed on is never a fun thing either. Keep in mind these things when you try and keep track of your expenses. This last tip may not make much sense to some but do your best to have fun with it. The more fun you have the easier it is to keep track of all of your expenses. Try and make a game out of it. Keep track of every single penny that goes in and out of your house. Remember that 100 pennies is a dollar and a dollar is worth quite a bit. Saving even a penny here or there can result in financial success.
